Essential travel information for Puerto Galera 2021

This year we have some long weekends to spare, so why not take advantage of this short break to relax and enjoy a time without work? If you’re a leisure traveler or returning resident of Puerto Galera and would like to return home for a few days, here is your complete guide to getting to this coastal town under the new normal.

FOR THE RETURN OF THE RESIDENTS OF PUERTO GALERA

  • For travelers without valid ID: get a certificate of acceptance from your barangay in Puerto Galera and send it to MDRRMO Puerto Galerathe messenger of. You can call the hotline 0917-146-9446 (Globe) or 0951-870-6644 (Smart) for more information.
  • For children without a valid identity document: birth certificates are accepted.

To note: The Health Declaration Form link is only accessible from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

  • A Travel Confirmation Pass will be sent to you by SMS to confirm your travel request.

TRAVEL FROM THE PORT OF BATANGAS

  • Show your generated QR code created from the StaySafe PH app at the front door, then proceed to the ticket office.
  • Show your Travel Confirmation Pass to the ticket office staff to purchase a boat ticket.
  • You can now proceed to the boarding gate.

TRAVEL FROM THE PORT OF BALATERO

  • Meet at the health assessment booth at the port of Balatero.
  • Once authorized, register for the resident ID card at the help desk. If your LGU issued a resident QR code, you can now continue.

To note: Quarantine is not required once authorized by the Health Unit.

TRAVEL FROM THE PORT OF CALAPAN

  • Download the Traze – Contact Tracing app from Google Play or the App Store. You will need to show this before purchasing a ticket at Calapan Port.
  • Upon arrival, head to the DRRMO provincial lane and show the confirmation text message sent by MDRRMO Puerto Galera.

GO TO PUERTO GALERA VIA THE VILLAFLOR BORDER

  • Staff will perform a health assessment upon arrival at the Villaflor border.
  • Once authorized, register for the resident ID card at the help desk. If your LGU issued a resident QR code, you can now continue.

To note: Quarantine is not required once authorized by the Health Unit.

For residents of Puerto Galera traveling to other parts of Mindoro, travel documents are not required. However, upon your return to Puerto Galera via the Villaflor border, you will need to show your resident QR Code. Sign up to get a QR code at the town planning office or at the Villaflor border itself, terminals, markets and other common places.

To note: Registration for the QR code is FREE.

FOR NON-RESIDENTS OF PUERTO GALERA / LEISURE TRAVELERS

As of March 4, 2021, travelers to Puerto Galera no longer need to present RT-PCR tests for a nasopharyngeal swab or travel authorization passes.

See updated input protocols below:

  • Fill out the health declaration form.
  • Visit the Travel Management Desk for the health and exposure assessment and issuance of the QR code.
  • Register for the Puerto Galera tourist registration application and provide the necessary information and requirements.

Additional Notes:

  • Travelers 15 and under must travel with their parents or guardians.
  • A confirmed accommodation reservation with establishments with an operating authorization certificate is required.
  • An environmental tax of P120 is required.
  • Travelers showing symptoms upon arrival will not be allowed entry.
