A travel agency is creating a handful of new jobs as thousands of families prepare to take their first summer vacation since before the pandemic. Blue Bay Travel, based in Trentham, has launched a campaign to recruit personal travel advisers.
And for the first time ever, the company, which specializes in long-haul travel, is looking for people who are entirely new to the business. The travel agency hopes to fill the recruitment gap by expanding its network to include job seekers without work experience in the travel industry.
Blue Bay Travel Managing Director Alistair Rowland said: “As a business we are proud to have been able to retain all of our colleagues during the pandemic and now, with travel firmly on track, we are hiring more. .

“We are looking for eight bright and enthusiastic Personal Travel Consultants to join our busy sales team and they don’t need to have a travel background. The entire travel industry is currently facing Recruitment Challenges Expanding the network to include non-travelling candidates, we seek to bring in top talent with a wealth of valuable experience from other sectors to share.
“It will also lead to more diversity in our workforce, which is what we are looking for.”

Blue Bay Travel is looking for eight Personal Travel Advisors. It offers a bespoke travel training program – starting Monday, August 1 – that combines classroom learning with on-the-job coaching.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience in a sales role, but not necessarily in the travel industry. All new hires will be based at Blue Bay offices in the Trentham business district.
Andy Hales, who works as a personal travel advisor at Blue Bay, said: “I’ve worked at Blue Bay for almost four years and love every minute I’ve spent at work seeing what this day brings. There’s no no two days are the same, which is fun and exciting.

Steph Mannock, Personal Travel Advisor, said: “I’ve been at Blue Bay for 11 years. We’re a friendly bunch who love doing what we do best: selling vacations!
“The bonus system is amazing. In March I got an extra bonus of £2,600 on top of my base salary.”
In addition to the Personal Travel Advisor positions, Blue Bay is also looking for two new Sales Team Leaders who will be required to coach and manage a team of Travel Advisors and evaluate their individual sales performance.
